The National Anthem--in Walmart
posted 7/24/2017 1:51:28 PM
When James Fruits sees an American flag, it's not unusual for him to break into song—the national anthem. And so, when the creative arts minister with Momentum Christian Church, Cleveland, found himself in the flag aisle of a Walmart while on vacation in Osage Beach, MO, he quite naturally became an online sensation.

Fruits actually had to sing the anthem twice. After his first performance, according to an article in the Kansas City Star, he was called to the front of the store: "Could the gentleman who sang the national anthem please come to the customer service desk.”

Walmart store managers asked him to sing it again, which he agreed to do, providing they handed him the intercom phone.

His son, Malachi, 15, filmed that version, Walmart posted the video, and it has now been viewed almost 800,000 times. ABC News and Inside Edition also came calling.
Oh, and Fruits went back to the store later to perform the anthem a third time—for night workers disappointed they had missed out on all of the fun.
